3D Printing for Prototyping and Production Course Details

If you haven’t already signed up for the opportunity to advance your 3D Printing skills this Fall, this is your chance! In this 3-week long workshop, beginning October 31, you’ll be exposed to the most relevant tools and techniques and hear compelling live keynotes delivered by industry experts.

The course, which translates the very best aspects of in-person conferences into a dynamic online learning package, features live demos with interactive Q&A, ongoing facilitated discussions, independent projects and individualized feedback, and a design contest at the end of it all to practice and share all you’ve learned.

Each week begins with two back-to-back live keynote sessions, during which our speakers highlight and demo cutting-edge tools and technology to help you work towards achieving your 3D printing design goals, including Fusion 360 tutorials, CAD software demos, and much more. Following the presentations are live, moderated Q&A sessions, during which you can ask focused, targeted questions that help you get the information you need to advance your skills. Our weekly guest speakers will provide ample insight into the field of 3D printing for production through their years of experience as well as their vast technological expertise. After the live session, and throughout the week, join your fellow participants and your course facilitator and mentor, Jordan Pelovitz, in the online classroom where you’ll find all the details on your project-based assignment, designed to help you learn key 3D print design tools and techniques for manufacturing in a way that is adaptable to your needs. Once you complete your assignment, you’ll submit it for personalized feedback to help push your thinking forward.

Also in the classroom, you can find ongoing discussions around the most important themes and concepts in 3D printing for prototyping and production – such as best practices for 3D print prototyping techniques and the latest protocols for Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM), as well as discussions focused on using and troubleshooting software. You can follow along and engage with discussions started by others, or start your own discussions and collaborate on answers to your most pressing questions and conundrums.
