Each Mecklermedia’s Inside 3D Printing Conference & Expo seems to have its own unique brand of excitement, and there is almost always something new to look forward to and read about before arriving. This year, everything is a first, as India’s capital city of Mumbai is a new locale altogether for the conference, being held December 3-4.
Just recently, we reported on the ‘Inside 3D Printing Design Challenge’ that has already been kicked off in celebration of the event, offering up a great contest for designers in India. Now, adding another unique feature, the Inside 3D Printing Conference & Expo in Mumbai will also offer the Inside 3D Printing Experience Zone. This is an educational venue for offering information about as well as a creative space to get to know more about 3D printing and all its related applications. Live music is going to be a very exciting way to show off this technology in Mumbai also.
Divide By Zero Technologies, which is also powering the Design Challenge and serves as one of the key partners at the event, will be making the most of this expansive experience by introducing the very first music gig India has known to feature all 3D printed musical instruments.

All about reaching out to the public in India and providing accessibility to 3D printing, the name Divide by Zero signifies infinity and reflects their ‘passion in pursuit of success.’ They are known for the design and development of the Accucraft 3D printer, their accomplishment of years of hard work and effort, and a commitment to innovative technology in India by way of 3D printing.
Now, they are really adding some flair to the show all around with a full concert featuring a band from Berklee College of Music, hailing from Boston. The instruments, which will surely be the grand focus of much attention, were created by the folks at Divide By Zero Technologies and include the following:
- Ukulele
- Electronic guitar
- Darbuka
- Flute
- Shaker
According to Swapnil Sansare, the CEO and founder of Divide by Zero, all of the instruments were made on their Accucraft i 250+ 3D Printer, and if you check out the video below, you can see that the ukulele looks and sounds amazing! Also if you are a designer in India still thinking about entering MecklerMedia’s Inside 3D Printing Design Challenge to participate and possibly win a 3D printer, be sure to fill out the free online entry form by Nov 6, 2015.
