Everyone seems to be trying to capitalize on the 3D printing boom, and what better of an asset to have than one of the most popular design softwares on the market today. Adobe, who earlier this year released a major update to their Photoshop Creative Cloud software, one which integrated 3D printing like never before, has made another announcement this morning.
Back in January when the new Photoshop CC software was released, Adobe announced a partnership with Shapeways, to allow designers using the Photoshop CC software to quickly turn their designs into 3D prints, via the Shapeway’s 3D printing service. Such a strategy immediately opened up 3D printing to the millions of individuals and business who use the software daily.
Today, Adobe, along with Sculpteo, a 3D printing service based in San Francisco and Paris, announced a similar partnership. Users of the software will now have the ability to download profiles of Sculpteo printers, and then simply drag and drop those profiles into a folder, to have access to them within Photoshop CC.

“I’m delighted to see that Adobe Photoshop, the industry giant, is taking a role in 3D printing and I’m convinced that it will help designers to go beyond the current limits of 3D printing,” said Clément Moreau, CEO of Sculpteo.
Sculpteo will provide Photoshop CC users yet another option to 3D print their designs, if they do not have their own 3D printers. The software will also support the full range of materials available via the Sculpteo service, which includes ceramics, metals, and other additive materials for 3D printing.
Maria Yap, senior director of product management, Photoshop at Adobe said, “We’re excited to add Sculpteo as our first European-based 3D print service provider. Their high-quality results and quick turnaround times appeal to creatives – Sculpteo is a great fit for Photoshop CC’s 3D printing capabilities.”
For Adobe, this partnership strengthens their support for 3D printing, by adding a Euopean based service in addition to Shapeways, which is based in the US, and is known for lengthy delivery times outside the country.
