XYZPrinting, a member of the Chinese New Kinpo Group, an electronic manufacturing service and original design manufacturing company which offers a broad product line including wireless routers, TV set top boxes, printers, and hard disk drives, says they’re the manufacturer of “the world’s most affordable consumer-grade 3D printers.”
In keeping with that aim, XYZprinting announced the release of their da Vinci 1.1 Plus, an upgraded version of the company’s da Vinci 1.0 3D printer.
The da Vinci 1.1 Plus features WiFi connectivity and remote access through XYZprinting’s free XYZapp for iPad and Android table devices. The latest offering from XYZprinting features a USB port and Android-based 5” color LCD touch panel, and it’s a completely stand-alone printer which can be operated without a connection to a desktop or laptop computer.
The XYZprinting cloud library offers thousands of 3D models available to share, create, and print online, the latest printer has a user-friendly filament cartridges system which can use 12 colors and lets users easily refill the printer, switch colors, or switch between ABS and PLA filament.
Upgraded software with automatic slicing repairs offers faster and more precise slicing and flexible options for print density, while the FFF technology of the machine is capable of printing objects up to 7.8×7.8×7.8 inches.
The companion XYZapp allows users to set up print jobs remotely from their device and also enables users to monitor their print jobs via a new, built-in camera which sends picture updates to the app. Those images can be shared through social media or uploaded to the XYZprinting 3D design collection. The da Vinci 1.1. Plus supports Windows XP, Windows 7 or above and Mac OSX 10.8.
Priced at $699, the da Vinci 1.1 Plus is available now through online retail websites including Amazon and BestBuy.com.
