Speed, it’s the one major issue that people have with today’s 3D printing technology. It can take hours to print even the simplest of items. Today, Leapfrog, one of the more well known 3D printer manufacturers, announced their latest, greatest 3D printer – The Creatr HS (High Speed).
The new Creatr HS can print at speeds up to 5 times faster than the regular Creatr. It features a large build volume of 14.8 liters, including the ability to print out objects up to 30cm long. This makes it the largest 3D printer in its class, according to Leapfrog, who also says, “The Creatr HS is the most versatile printer on the market.”
The Creatr HS is being advertised as being “bigger, faster and stronger” than Leapfrog’s previous models. It also includes a 4-inch full color LCD screen, a dual extruder, and the ability to print directy from a USB connection. The dual extruder allows for the printing of PVA, a water soluable material that can be extremely useful for printing of support material.
“Due to continuous technological development Leapfrog has achieved a significant increase of printing speed,” states the company on their website. “By lowering the weight of the extruder carriage the Creatr HS is capable of printing up to 300mm/s. Faster prototyping for our customers provides them with the ability to benefit ever more from 3D printing.”
