The MakerBot Digital Store launched a little over a month ago, with 4 different figurine collections. These collection are designs made by MakerBot, and they can be purchased for $0.99 a piece or $9.99 for an entire collection of 12 figures.
Just yesterday MakerBot announced the launch of 2 new collections. They released the Dragons of Glastonbury Chess Set, as well as the Chunky Trucks Collection.
The Dragons of Glastonbury Chess Set includes several different purchasing options. For $0.99 you can purchase one of the 12 figures in the collections, which include items such as Sir Asher, Zane The Archer, andCedric the Castle Guard. For $9.99 you can get all 12 figures, and for an additional $9.99, you can get the “Dragons of Glastonbury Castle”, which is described as follows:
Spacious enough for banquets, jousting, hunting parties, and hosting an army of knights, Glastonbury Castle is home to many medieval legends. The legendary castle features a hall decorated with tapestries from exotic lands, towers to store the King’s ransom, a creaky drawbridge, and a striking view of the whole kingdom.
If you are a chess player, you can purchase the Glastonbury Chessboard for an additional $9.99 as well.
On the other had, if you or your kids are fans of big trucks, then perhaps the Chunky Trucks Collection if more up your ally. This collection also features 12 different figures/trucks, with names such as “Heavy Hauler”, “Mighty Mixer”, and “Sam The Surveyor”. If you want the entire collection, you can get them all for $9.99, which includes a free “Crossing Guard” figure..
Keep in mind that these physical items can not be purchased through MakerBot’s Digital Store; it’s only the designs that are purchasable. You either need to have a 3D Printer (preferrably a MakerBot model) or know someone that does in order to print them.
